During the Corona Virus Lockdown period, The Grand Lodge of Scotland released funds to the daughter Lodges, to support good causes and charity during the lockdown.
After some discussion amongst Lodge Brethren, via video conference, during the lockdown, we agreed to submit an application to GLoS for coop funding on behalf of The Emma Cameron Foundation. Our application was successful and shortly afterwards, the Master Bro George Kerr and Immediate Past Master Bro Derek Malaney met up with Alan Cameron, of the ECF to present them with a cheque for £230.
The donation was well received. No different to a lot of other charities, their income has been curtailed this year severely, due to the Lockdown. The Charity though has continued to support some good causes during this period, including for example providing exercise bikes for youngsters with cancer who have been isolating at home.
Specifically our donation, will go towards supporting the cost of tutors for kids/youths with cancer, who find themselves in longer term care in hospital. I believe this is a very worthy cause and we should all feel proud of our valuable contribution.
Thanks also go to PGL Sec Bro Reg Peat for his support in our application to Grand Lodge for the co-funding.
